Hub New Music performs works curated in response to the Renaissance composer Vincente Lusitano. Pieces by Donnacha Dennehy, Francisco del Pino, Dai Wei, Andrew Conklin, and Christian Quiñones each create dialogues with music of the past. They do this through allusion to old musical forms and harmonies, engagement with similar subject matter, and in Conklin’s piece Sun Left, through direct response to Lusitano.
